The Governing Board of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) appointed Beate Völker as a member of the board of NWO Social Sciences (MaGW) with effect from 01 January 2010.
Beate will replace Professor Bert Felling from Radboud University Nijmegen and will represent empirical sociology. MaGW is under the leadership of a divisional board, consisting of a chair, a vice chair and six other members. Divisional board members are appointed by the Governing Board of NWO at the recommendation of the divisional board for a period of 3 years, with the option for reappointment for a further period of 3 years.
